What is a felony?

In many countries including the United States, felony law deals specifically with crimes that are considered a threat to the society.  Many of these crimes are in newspapers everyday and can be found under their classified titles of aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, murder, and kidnapping to name a few.  Each crime is defined according to the state in which it was committed and thus differences can be noticed in regards to how the crime is classified.  Due to the severity of these crimes, felony attorneys or lawyers need to be hired in such cases to represent both the prosecuting and defendant parties as these lawyers specialize within this degree of crime.
